Everyone at viadesign conspired with Arcelia’s husband, Gerardo, yesterday to throw her a surprise baby shower at lunchtime. He was able to scoop her up to a pretend lunch, stall her a bit with a walk, and then bring her to find a decorated table with all her coworkers at one of Old Town’s yummiest restaurants, Miguel’s. Decorated with a boyish blue whale theme, the little party was complete with delicious blue cupcakes—from Babycakes in Hillcrest—and lots of adorable gifts. Arcelia even came wearing blue! It was definitely the color of the day, but far from the mood. Congrats to Arcelia and Gerardo! Baby Santiago is due this June. – Jen
